Integrative approach
I am integrative counsellor which means that I have been trained in multiple therapeutic approaches, including Person-centred, CBT and Transactional Analysis. This enables me to draw on different techniques, tailoring sessions to best suit you and your needs.
I also enjoy working in creative ways such as sand tray work, objects or drawing exercises as I believe this can tap into a different part of ourselves and can be particularly helpful for anyone who struggles to put words to their feelings or sit and talk for 50 minutes.

Collaborative
I am not here to advise or tell you what to do: my approach is collaborative, I believe that you know yourself better than I do and so I will strive to get to know you and understand your experiences at a deeper level. I aim to work in partnership with you, together we will work towards your goals, at your pace. I hope to empower you to trust yourself and find your own way forwards so that you are not reliant on me but can move forward with greater confidence that you can support yourself. I will regularly check in with you to see how you are finding our sessions, if your goals have changed at all, and if you feel ready to come to an end.

Trustworthy
It isn’t always easy to talk to those around you, perhaps they don’t listen, or are too involved, or have heard your story so much you don’t feel able to bring it up again? But I also understand that it can also feel daunting talking to a stranger about your struggles too. In me you will find a counsellor who is both friendly and professional. I am not here to judge you or criticise, rather I work by coming alongside you and helping you to find clarity in your situation. Everything* you share with me will remain confidential and your notes anonymised.
